Indian telecom operator MTS has announced a cut in its internet usage tariffs by up to 60% in Delhi NCR circle. The MTS brand is operated by the Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd.
Shankar Bali, the MTS India Chief operating officer of Haryana and Delhi Circle said, “We have specially designed these tariffs to provide our data customers with a world class mobile internet experience at the most affordable price backed by increased usage benefits”. MTS said that the rates of surfing for the customer has been reduced to 1/3 of the previous rate.
According to the earlier plans, for Rs. 348 the subscriber used to get 512 MB data which means 67.9 paisa/MB. But now the rates have been revised and the subscribers will get 1.5 GB data usage for Rs. 348 which means 22.5 paisa/MB.
This means that the company has slashed the rates by more than 60% in the usage charges. The new data plans for MTS begin from Rs. 96 with 1GB data usage with just one day validity and goes up to Rs. 998 with 6 GB data usage and 90 days validity. The company has recently crossed 3 lakh data customer milestone in the Delhi NCR circle.
