Computer manufacturing giant Acer, on July 5, 2012 has announced that it has tied up with cloud service provider Vaulten. Acer along with Vaulten will be providing free 2GB cloud space for its customers in India.
The offer will be provided for the customers who will be buying laptops from Veriton, Gateway, TravelMate or Aspire series. And for the customers who wish to get more space beyond 2GB, Acer and Vaulten are also offering various subscription plans up to 1TB.
S Rajendran, the chief marketing officer, while commenting on the association said, “We have been committed to providing innovative solutions that enrich the lives of our consumers and we are extremely pleased to announce our association with Vaulten. Transforming the way computing is managed and delivered, we are confident that this will be a strategic differentiator for Acer in the long term. Through our association with Vaulten, we are confident of offering tremendous value-add to our consumers whose biggest fear is efficient data storage and security.”
Even Anil Mathews from VP Partnerships talked about the growing demand of quick access to data anywhere anytime. Mathews said, “We are confident that this trend will increase the demand and requirement of cloud services. Acer consumers can now enjoy and experience Vaulten’s next generation online backup facility.” It has now become a trend to offer free cloud space with the purchase of a smartphones, but Acer is now starting the trend with laptops.
