Japanese based Nissan Motors in cooperation with FedEx Express, will be carrying out real world Driving tests of 100% electric commercial vehicle, known as the e-NV200. The test will be carried out in the Yokohama area which will begin this week.
The e-NV200 test vehicle has been built on the Nissan’s multi-purpose compact van NV200. FedEx will be provided by Nissan with a test model to use it as a delivery vehicle for about a month.
The potential of the vehicle will then be evaluated by Nissan for the delivery of international air cargo. For Nissan this will be the second test conducted with FedEx after a similar trial conducted in Europe during last winter.
This year Nissan tested the e-NV200 with several major fleet companies including the AEON Retail Co in Japan and British Gas in Europe . The valuable feedback from the real world testing will be reflected in the development of future Nissan production models. The electric vehicles can be used for families and business purposes with a functional and roomy interior and is intended to be a break through in commercial vehicles. The model offers spaciousness, versatility and practicality of the base vehicle NV200. The vehicle also offers smooth acceleration and quietness.
