The ban on the popular and the controversial Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 in Germany has now been extended to the entire European Union by a German court. The south Korean giant’s 7.7 inch tablet is the latest casualty in terms of the patent fight between Apple and Samsung.
But this is not the first time the tablet is surrounded by dispute and was unveiled at the IFA in Berlin last year. But unfortunately the tablet was taken off from the retail shelves after a sales injunction.
A statement has been issued by the company which mentioned that it was disappointed by the court’s ruling stating that it will continue their intellectual property rights and defend against Apple’s claims to ensure that the products still remain available to the customers throughout the European union.
However, despite the ban on the tablet, there are doubts that the ban would have any significant impact on the company. The new 7.7 inch tablet also faces stiff competition with its own more affordable Tab 2 7.0 and also the Nexus 7. It is also not a bad news for the company’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 N, which is specifically designed to avoid the ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and was also cleared for sale.
