Japan based electronics and electrical manufacturing company Mitsubishi Electric Corp has received orders for installing high-speed elevators in Chengdu Hilton International Square and Chengdu International Mart. The two buildings are at present under construction and are due to be opened in the year 2013 in Chengdu City Sichuan Province, China.
For the project a total of 88 elevators and escalators are planned. 48 sets of elevators will be installed at the Chengdu Hilton International Square which is a 165.8 meters, mixed use building complex incorporating offices residences and a hotel. This will include 11 sets of high speed models which can travel up to six meters per second.
The order has been places by Chengdu George Seaton real Estate Co. And for the Chengdu International Mart, an order of 36 elevators including 4 high speed models has been placed for the 39 storey structure housing offices, residences and commercial facilities.
A steady growth has been noticed in the elevator market in China especially in the inland areas where the economic development has been remarkable. Moreover, demand for the high speed elevators for buildings and hotels is also booming. For the growing demand, Mitsubishi and Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co have worked together to strengthen the sales and technical support capabilities in inland China.
