Isuzu and General Motors will be recalling more than 258,000 SUVs in the US and Canada to fix the problem of short circuits in power window and door lock switches. The vehicles have been recalled so that the door lock switches do not cause fire.

The recall covers the vehicles like GMC Envoy, Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Buick Rainier, Saab 97-X SUVs, Isuzu Ascender from the 2006 and 2007 model years. So far GM has reports of 28 fires and does not know of any injuries caused due to the problem. GM in a document posted on the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Website said that that the fluid can get inside the driver’s door and cause corrosion in the power window and door switch circuit boards.
