A city official said that Doraemon, the robot cat from future, will be celebrating minus 100 years old. The official added that the Robot cat will also be given the official residence of Tokyo where he was born.

The electronic blue feline, whose cartoon character is popular in many of the Asian countries among the children will be given a residency certificate for Kawasaki on September 3, 2012. The city, where the character’s creator lived, also has a popular museum of all things Doraemon and plans to issue copies of the time travelling robot cat’s residency certificate to fans and the visitors.

Takao Abe, the Mayor of Tokyo says, “Doraemon was created and born in Kawasaki. In that sense, he has always been a city resident”. The mayor added, “I hope (the residency certificate) will bring the museum closer to many people”.

The certificate will mention September 3, 2112 as his birthday along with the listing of his likes which includes pastries and his dislikes which includes mice. Doraemon was sent back in time from the 22nd century by a boy who wanted to alter his historical misfortune. The cartoon character has a magical pocket which has endless supplies of fantastical gadgets.
