Finnish mobile company Nokia and US giant Microsoft are once again taking the stage on September 5, 2012 to launch Nokia’s second generation Windows Phones. The phones are based on the Windows Phone 8, which will have a new start screen with dual core processors and improved cameras.
For Nokia it is the launch of the first smartphones based on the Windows Phone 8and is a make or break moment as it struggles in the market to survive in front of the other rivals like Samsung and iPhone. Ben Wood the director of research at the CCS Insight said, “The challenge that Microsoft faces with the timing of the launch is that it risks being drowned out by the deafening noise generated by iPhone 5. That is going to be a challenge for Microsoft and its licensees, the most important of which is Nokia”.
According to the rumours the Lumia 920 will have a 1.5 Ghz dual core processor and a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The device is expected to have slightly smaller 4.3 inch screen.
Now that Nokia is all set with its new smartphones, even Apple is geared up and is expected to launch its new iPhone at an event on September 12, 2012.
