After sixteen years of entering India, fast food giant McDonalds will be turning vegetarian for the Indian crowd. The burger chain will be opening its first vegetarian only restaurant at the foot hills of the pilgrimage centre Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir next year.
Vikram Bakshi, who manages the McDonalds restaurants in the east and north India said that they see a huge potential for the veg outlets as by nature Indians are religious. After Vaishno Devi the fast food chain also plans to open another pure veg restaurant near the golden temple in Amritsar. McDonalds has about 33,000 outlets spread across the world in 119 countries.
