The iconic Amul girl paid tribute to its founder Verghese Kurien. Kurien passed away on September 9, 2012. The Amul ads are known for depicting the current developments in the country.
The new ad thanked the father of the White Revolution for his contributions. The ad read, “Thank you for giving us Hausla, Pragati and Anand”. However, the worlds used in the ad bears a larger meaning. ‘Hausla’ means courage, ‘Pragati’ means development of farmers associated with Amul and ‘Anand’ is the place where it originated. The Amul Moppet or popularly known as the Amul Girl is known for depicting humour and satire and has given some memorable hoardings.
