The Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihiko Noda might replace his finance minister with Katsuya Okada , who is a senior politician in the ruling Democratic Party of Japan. Okada shared his view that a strong yen is a threat to the economy.

Okada is the deputy prime minister who also serves as the cabinet minister responsible for welfare and tax reform will replace Jun Azumi as a part of shakeup of the cabinet which could help as early as October 1, 2012. The prime minister has also promised to call the national elections soon. According to the opinion polls the Democratic party would suffer a heavy defeat in an election.
