Japan based electronics giant Sharp Corporation on October 1, 2012 said that it has begun the production of a 5 inch full HD LCD panels for smartphones, following ever increasing demands for smartphones around the world. The company is manufacturing the LCD panels with a pixel density which will be highest in the world, approximately 1.3 times the pixel density of standard LCD screens.
Production for the HD Screens began at the end of September, 2012 at ‘Mie Plant No.3’; full scale production will begin this week. The new LCD panel which is being manufactured has CG Silicon technology which is a new pixel design. It is an innovative process to achieve the same number of pixels in a smartphone screen size as compared to a full HD LCD TV screen.
