‘India Against Corruption’ activist Arvind Kejriwal, after splitting from Anna Hazare, is all set to join politics on October 2, 2012 and will be announcing the launch of a political party. The activist will be announcing the formation of a party on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The development was announced by Manish Sisodia, who is a leader of the ‘India Against Corruption’ campaign and is also close to Kejriwal. The former Team Anna member will be launching the party at an event at ‘Constitution Club’ in New Delhi on October 2, 2012.
The name of the new party is yet to be announced officially. Sisodia on Tuesday said that the party is expected to have a retired judge, a member of an internal Lokpal and a few other names would be revealed on October 2, 2012. The members of the party would be announced by Kejriwal at the event.
Sisodia also stated that the launch event would reveal the symbol of the party, but the decision on the issue will depend on the Election Commission of India. ‘India Against Corruption’ on October 2, 2012 released a statement which said that in the past two years, hundreds of people have come out on the streets to abolish corruption but this has had no major impact on corruption due to which they decided to take a political turn.
