AsiaBizz.com: Recent reports have claimed that US giant Apple has slashed the prices of its iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 in the Indian market. Indian news agency IBN has claimed that a spokesperson from Apple said that the iPhone 4S 16 GB model is now available for Rs. 41,400.

This means that Apple has slashed the prices by Rs. 3,100 as the earlier price of the same model was Rs. 44,500. More reports have claimed that the iPhone 4 8 GB version is now available for Rs. 28,300 with a massive reduction of Rs. 9,600.

Apart from the price slash, the US giant has officially discontinued the highly acclaimed iPhone 3GS. On the other hand, the official Airtel site has displayed the price of the iPhone 4S 16 GB version as Rs. 44, 500 and the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 unlocked version for both 16 and 32 GB is shown as “out of stock”.

The website has also shown that the iPhone 5 is not in stock with a  “coming soon” sign hanging over this model. No official dates have been given, but reports say that the phone will be launched just before the Diwali festival.

Earlier there were reports which stated that the telecom operators Airtel, Vodafone and Aircel have placed orders for the nano SIM cards which are used in the iPhone 5.
