Internet search engine giant Google has announced its popular ‘Doodle 4 Google’ contest for Indian school children. The US giant has opened up the contest for school children aged between 5 and 16 throughout India. The children are invited to enter the contest and put down their own innovative thoughts for the Google Doodles.

The best doodle will get to feature on the Google home page on November 14, 2012, as this is the day that is celebrated as ‘Children’s Day’ in India. This year the theme for the contest is ‘Unity In Diversity’, and the last date to submit entries is October 23, 2012. Last year there were more than a hundred thousand entries for the doodle contest and this year the number is expected to increase.

The country marketing head for Google India, Nikhil Rungta said that the contest provides a worthy platform for children to enjoy a mix of art and technology. Rungta added that the kids also get a taste of competing at the national level with other children.

All participants will be divided in to three sections according to their study classes. Group1 will have students from class 1 to 3, group 2 will have students from class 4 to 6 and Group 3 will have students from class 7 to 10. The winner will be chosen by the jury along with the original Google Doodler.
