On October 4, 2012, real estate giant Godrej Properties launched a Rs. 100 crore residential project in the Indian city of Bangalore along with Bollywood actor Fardeen Khan and his sister Laila, in a joint venture. The new project is a premium residential property known as the Godrej Gold Country, which is expected to be built on a 12 acre of plot of land.
The plot was owned by the late veteran actor Feroz Khan in Chikkabidarakallu village, which is on the outskirts of the city. Pirojsha Godrej, the managing director and Chief executive officer of Godrej Properties, said that the total investment in the property would be a little over Rs. 100 crore. The CEO also revealed that they have already sold ten percent of the proposed project in Bangalore.
