Luxury car manufacturing giant Mercedes Benz India has said that it has rolled out its first locally assembled SUV. The company has rolled out its ML 250 from its Chakan plant on October 10, 2012.

Apart from the roll out of the new vehicle, the company has also announced the start of operations for its new state-of-the-art paint shop, which is capable of water based painting. India is now the only country where Mercedes Benz has begun production of its vehicles outside of  the US. Piyush Arora the director at Mercedes Benz India said that the company has just started with the ML 250, and production of ML 350 CDI and GL Class will also follow.
