Reports say that the Kobo e-reader will ship on June 17th, and will then be a part of Border’s e-book store that will be launched soon.

The Kobo is a simple e-reader and does not include Wi-Fi or 3G connectivity. It comes with a 6-inch e-ink display, quite similar to that of Amazon’s Kindle and B&N’s Nook. The screen however has only 8 levels of gray, unlike the well known 16.

The Kobo does however have Bluetooth connectivity as well as 1GB of internal memory, and an SD slot too.
