Auto manufacturing company General Motors India, will be launching the much awaited revamped version of its Chevrolet Spark hatchback for the Indian market today, October 25, 2012. Several speculations have been made about the new additions to the popular hatchback by the country’s fifth largest passenger car market, and it remains to be seen what new changes have been made.
Reports have said that the new Spark will come with various modifications to its interior and exterior. The entry level model will have an improvised front fascia with redesigned front bumpers and grille.
The rear end of the vehicle compliments the new premium look of the car, which is expected to be one of the Spark’s most valuable assets. In terms of specifications, no alterations have been made. The revamped small car will have a four cylinder 995 cc petrol engine, which rolls out peak power-to-torque equation of 63 bhp and 90Nm.
The latest model from Chevrolet is expected to breathe new life into the falling sales of the company in India. The Spark will also provide stiff competition to other vehicles in the same segment such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon. However, beating the Alto 800 will be a tough ask, due to the momentum Maruti Suzuki has in India.
