Some of the top contractors in China are looking forward to take part in railway projects in the United Kingdom. The participation comes as a means to promote their brands in developed economies.
Liu Yuling, the general manager of China Civil Engineering Construction Corp said, “We hope we can work on some good railway projects in the UK”. The construction company has built railways in Algeria, Libya and other countries. The statement was also supported by CITIC Construction Co. Ltd, which is another Chinese company, whose projects include a $3.5 billion housing project in Angola. The Chinese contractors will only be starting work on the larger projects in developed economies and have not taken part in any projects in the UK so far.
