There have been many reports in the past of a compact flying car or helicopter being created, however these reports have never been substantiated. This time however, a new mini-helicopter has been designed by Hirobo in the Hiroshima Prefecture.

The new mini-helicopter can actually get well off the ground and was unveiled at the International Aerospace Exhibition in Nagoya. The mini-helicopter became the centre of attraction and stole the show, which led to the company receiving many queries about the vehicle.

Kotaro Matsuzaka, the president of the RC helicopter said, “This completely Japanese, 10 billion yen project, is planned to be completed by 2021.” The main intention behind the use of the machine is to be able to transport people during emergencies and disasters.

According to our sources, the helicopter will be offered in two versions. The unmanned version will cost 10,000,000 yen, while the model which seats one person will cost 30,000,000 yen. The unmanned versions can be used to transport time sensitive materials such as organs or blood. On an electric motor, the machine can reach speeds of up to 100km/h for 30 minutes at a time. The helicopter can also be used in search-and-rescue operations as its silent motor will be allow rescue workers to hear people calling for help in disaster struck areas.
