Widely popular South Korean pop star Psy, who shot to fame with his super hit track Gangnam Style recently apologized for taking part in anti-US protests several years ago. The pop star issued a statement after the US media reported that he had performed in concerts protesting against the US presence in South Korea and Iraq.
The singer also said that he will be forever sorry for any pain that was caused by him. Psy is expected to perform at the annual ‘Christmas in Washington’ TV special. The concert is also expected to be attended by US president Barack Obama and his family.
The hit song Gangnum Style has become the most popular video on the video streaming site YouTube. The video has got more than 900 million views since it was uploaded in the month of July, 2012.
In a concert in the year 2004, Psy performed a song which described the killing of Yankees who tortured the Iraqi prisoners and killed their families slowly and painfully. The singer in a statement said, “While I’m grateful for the freedom to express one’s self, I’ve learned there are limits to what language is appropriate and I’m deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted”.
