German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd’s dealer network said that it will be investing RM 200 million starting from 2013, right up to 2015. The recent move will see all 27 dealers for the car company enhance their design, ambiance and functionality.

Roland S Folger, the chief executive officer and Mercedes Benz president said that the investment by the company is a part of its move to make its dealerships more attractive to its customers. Folger, while talking at the newly renewed Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd outlet in Batu Caves said, “The RM 200 mil investment will also depend on overall growth in the marketplace.”

The president also said that if there is a need, then investments could also increase. Folger also assured that there were plans to set up new outlets across the nation, but did not specify where they would be, as they were still in talks with the dealers.

Roland explained that it is important for the company to run and maintain its outlets and that it is also an issue of convenience, as they want to be able to bring their dealership network closer to their customers. The Mercedes outlet at Batu Caves is the first to complete the renovation with an investment of RM 11 million, which comprises of renovation and upgrading tools and equipment.
