South Korean phone company Samsung has launched another handset to add to its line up of big-screen phones with the Galaxy Grand and its dual-SIM version Galaxy Grand Duos. The launch of the two new handsets were announced by the company on its official blog ‘Samsung Tomorrow’ on December 18, 2012.
The phone company also said that the dual-SIM variant will arrive first in the market and will be followed by its sibling. The new Galaxy Grand has a 5-inch WVGA TFT screen and runs on the Android 4.1 Jellybean platform. The smartphone also runs on a dual-core processor at 1.2 Ghz and has 1 GB of RAM.
Samsung has continued with the design language which it had introduced in the Galaxy S III. The device also comes with an 8 megapixel camera, complete with an LED flash and also sports a 2 megapixel camera on the front. The Galaxy Grand is available in just the 8 GB variant and its memory capacity can be raised by up to 64 GB, through a micro SD card.
In terms of connectivity, the phones feature 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, S Voice and micro USB drives. The other features of the handsets include Direct Call, Pop up video, Smart Alert and All share Play.
