India have given Australia something to think about on Day 1 of the 2nd cricket Test match in the 2013 Border-Gavaskar series between the two countries. The match is being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and will conclude on March 6, 2013, if it does not finish earlier. India have bowled Australia out for 237 in their first innings and have closed the day’s play at 5 for no loss.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2013

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up his first Test wicket with a beautiful delivery that came in after gently moving across David Warner. He followed this up with 2 more wickets, to have the Aussies on the back foot in the first session itself. R. Jadeja also picked up 3 wickets to keep the game well in India’s control. Harbhajan Singh was picked yet again after a lackluster showing in the last Test. He managed to pick up 2 wickets for 52, from his 22 overs.

Australia would not have reached their total if it was not for another captains knock from Michael Clarke. The batsman has been having an extended run of good form of late and made 91 well-deserved runs in his team’s first innings. Clarke was supported by Matthew Wade who made 61.

At the close of play, India had 5 runs on the board, with Virender Sehwag sending one delivery to the ropes. India will be looking to post a big total and bowl the Aussies out from here on.
