Mobile phone manufacturer Sony has hinted that the launch date of its Xperia Z phone will be set for March 6, 2013, in the Indian market. The news came after the official Facebook page of the company displayed the smartphone’s launch date as ‘06/03/2013’. In the background of the image, one can see a smartphone which looks a lot like the Xperia Z. The message on the Facebook page reads, ‘Everything is about to change’.
Rumors about the launch of the Xperia Z smartphone in India have been doing the rounds for a while now. The new Xperia Z has a 5-inch display, with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution . Last month, the company had launched the HTC Butterfly for the Indian market as well.
Other features of the new phone include a quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 SoC processor. The new Xperia also has 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB in-built storage. This can be expanded up to 32 GB through a micro SD card. The smartphone supports Bluetooth 4.0 as well as NFC. The device has a rear 13 MP 1080 p HD camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera, which has a 2.2 MP 720p HD camera.
