Until this is put in place, the police will continue to investigate the matter. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, on March 4, 2013, assured Haque’s wife Parveen that the CBI would conduct a probe. Kumar denied that the officer received several gunshot wounds and read from the autopsy that there was just one gunshot injury on Haque’s body.

The ADG, while reading from the autopsy report, said that the bullet had hit him from behind and exited his body after piercing the chest. The bullet has not been traced and metal detectors have been installed to retrieve it.

Kumar added that the conclusion was based on the post mortem report and that the autopsy conducted by a team of three doctors from Pratapgarh has been videographed. On March 2, 2013, Mohaddipur gram pradhan – Nanhe Yadav, was also killed in the violence.
