On the 12th of January 2010, when Haiti experienced its worst earthquake ever, which left 220000 dead and 300000 injured, destroying almost the whole city and the surrounding areas around it. It has been six months now, and nothing seems to have changed much, it looks that the country has just been out of a war.
The Government of Haiti has started removing debris from the city, but according to the experts there, it seems it would take around 20 years to clean up everything. There has been estimated almost 20 million cubic meters of rubble present in the city. And there are 1.5 million people living in camps around the city.
But all the problems are not over for the country, as the Government says that it has not been able to tackle the catstrophe done by the earthquake, and hurricane season is at large now. But for now the Haitians have taken matters into their own hands and are working tremendously on rebuilding the city.
