Indian mobile phone manufacturer Lava Mobiles said is all set to launch a new tablet in its ETAB series. The new tablet will support 3G, voice calling and will run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The device will have a 7-inch screen with WVGA resolution and has been powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor running at 1 GHz. The device also has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory. The new smartphone will have a battery of 3,000 mAh and will come with pre-installed apps from Hungama, BigFlix, Meritnation, Edukart, Diamond Comics and Readwhere.

The company is yet to reveal the pricing of the tablet, but it is expected that the device will be under the Rs. 10,000 segment. Earlier, Lava had launched its 7-inch tablet ETAB XTRON in the month of February 2013, which was powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM.

The ETAB XTRON runs on the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean platform and is available in the Indian market for Rs. 6,499. The display panel of the tablet has an IPS panel, which supports multiple viewing panels and increases under sun visibility. The screen also supports a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Lava hopes to make a name for itself in the competitive smartphone market with these well-priced devices.
