The new Ford EcoSport finally made its way to the 34th Bangkok International Motor Show. The new vehicle is powered by the all new EcoBoost engine and will be displayed for the public from March 27 to April 2013.
March 25 and 26, 2013 will be days for the media and dealers to get a closer look at the vehicles. The customers will be able to experience the all-new Ford Sync app as well, which has been developed by Microsoft. Sync will allow Ecosport owners to control their smartphone with voice commands while driving. For the first time the company has introduced the EcoSport in ASEAN, which is the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region, consisting of countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
Matt Bradley, the president of Ford ASEAN said, “This sporty, compact SUV will not only allow Ford to enter another new segment in ASEAN, it will help to define a whole new vehicle segment for the ASEAN region”. Bradley added that the EcoSport is an urban SUV which blends the flexibility and spaciousness of an SUV, with affordability, agility and fuel efficiency of a compact car. The EcoSport will be manufactured at a state of the art facility, worth $450 million in Rayong.
