Indian mobile manufacturer Micromax has started shipping its A116 Canvas HD smartphone in the country. The spokesperson of the company, while talking to reporters, said that the Micromax A 116 Canvas HD is now available via retailers.
The popular online retailer Snapdeal.com said it currently has fresh stock and it has already dispatched around 95 percent of those devices which were pre-booked. The online retailer went on to say that it plans to clear the remaining backlog by March 26, 2013. Though Micromax has claimed that it has started retailing the device, none of the popular online retailers are offering the phone.
Some popular retailers like Indiatimes.com, Homeshop18.com and Infibeam.com are expected to offer sales of the Micromax A 116. Tony Navin, the vice president of business development at Snapdeal.com, while commenting on fresh stock said, “We plan to hold discussion [sic] with Micromax for the next phase of the campaign, after we have shipped all the pre-booked smartphones.”
Recently, the tech company had announced that the A116 Canvas HD smartphone will soon be released and that it would be up for pre-orders on February 14, 2013. The company claimed that the smartphone had received overwhelming response from its customers and garnered sales for around 9,000 units, which sold out in just 24 hours.
