Filmmaker Sajid Khan’s movie ‘Himmatwala’ has completed its first week at the Indian box office with an average collection. The filmmakers earlier predicted that this movie will be the next Rs. 100 crore film, but it has failed to even cross the Rs. 50 crore mark in seven days.
Despite the fact that ‘Himmatwala’ did not have a competitor, the movie has bombed at the box office and has received negative feedback as well. The flick was released at the beginning of the summer holidays and the makers had expected it to get a flying start at the box office due to the season. However, the action entertainer could not get started and had registered below the expected occupancy on the opening day.
It was expected that the business would go up in the following days, but collections showed a downfall on Sunday and Saturday. On weekdays, business continued to go downwards. The movie has Ajay Devgn and Tammanna in leading roles, with the later making her Bollywood debut in the movie.
The film just managed to make Rs. 49.90 crore in the country within its first week. Meanwhile, Bollywood movie ‘Chashme Baddoor’ has hit the theatres on April 5, 2013 and has got good reviews so far.
