Telecom giant Idea Cellular has launched another smartphone called the Aurus 2 for the Indian market on April 18, 2013. With the recent launch, the company has proved its fondness towards launching 3G smartphones with the low-cost price tag of Rs. 6,490. Earlier, Idea launched five 3G smartphones in the country, there were Idea Zeal, Idea Aurus, Idea Ivory, ID 918 and Idea Blade, which were all below the price of Rs. 8,000.

Idea said that it received a good response from the launches and that it has already sold more than 300,000 3G smartphones in the last one year. The dual-SIM phone runs on the Android 4.1 operating system, which is powered by a 1GHz processor and offers video calling facility.

The device has other features like a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with superior display, which supports a 320 x 480 pixel resolution. The Aura 2 also has large  internal storage space amounting to 4GB, with 512 MB of RAM. It also has a 3.2 megapixel camera with digital zoom and a front-facing VGA camera for video calling.

The phone company went on to say that it was presently busy in attracting 2G customers who wish to upgrade to 3G in the semi-urban and rural markets across the country. Idea’s latest smartphone is best for those who wish to be connected and active on various social networks.
