Reports about the handset say that it has low-end specifications and is aimed at the budget segment. The features of the phone include a 4.3-inch SLCD 2 display with WVGA resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and a 5-megapixel rear camera. However, the phone does not have a front camera. The new smartphone phone will be available in three colours, namely black, white and pink. Initial pictures from the phone seem to show that it could have Sense 4 or Sense 4+.

It is still unknown whether the phone will get a Sense 5 update. The new smartphone also comes with a 1GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM and a 1800 mAh battery. The connectivity features of the phone include GLONASS, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 4.0. The company has started marketing the phone on the official HTC website in Taiwan.

The HTC Desire L has been launched by the company after its first Facebook phone was made available in the US. With this new product, HTC will look to capitalize on some new features, including Sense technology.
