It has now been confirmed that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 device will be officially launched for the Indian market on April 26, 2013. The company has also started sending out invites for media events, which will be taking place in Delhi. Earlier reports said that the phone will be available for Rs. 40,000 online, while the maximum retail price of the device will be Rs. 42,000.
The S4 specifications will include 2GB of RAM, a full-HD AMOLED display and a 5-inch screen. The handset will be available in 32GB and 64GB versions, with a micro-SD slot, which has a limit of up to 64GB. The S4 will also feature a 2600mAh battery. The new Samsung phone also has eight sensors, which includes the usual accelerometer, Gyrometer and digital compass.
The device will have an IR gesture sensor, aka the infrared LED for remote control functions, that will allow users to turn their smartphones into a remote control for TVs. It can also function as a sensor for temperature and humidity control. The S4 will have a 1.9 GHz quad core Snapdragon processor and there is another version of the device which has a 1.6 octa-core processor, which runs on Android’s 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean.
The handset can also support 4G LTE and Samsung is launching two versions of the phone; in 4G as well as 3G.
