The CBI has moved to the court, in order to seek the custody of the former Gujarat minister, Amit Shah, who has been accused in being involved in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case. The CBI seeks Shah’s custody for five days.

CBI lawyer KTS Tulsi asked the court to provide the custody of Mr. Amit Shah under the remand of the CBI for five days, the reason provided for the custody were provided to the magistrate in a sealed cover. Lawyer Tulsi has stated, the custody had not been asked earlier, because it was assumed that Shah would co-operate with the CBI in the investigations, but this has not happened.

The plea for custody was followed after three days on interrogation on Amit Shah by the CBI, during which he did not co-operate. Amit Shah is a close aide to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
