Auto manufacturing giant Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the CNG version of its multi-utility vehicle Ertiga for the Indian market. The new CNG variant of the vehicle will be priced at Rs. 30,000 over its petrol counterparts. The vehicle is expected to be launched by mid-June 2013.

At the time when the fuel prices have become uncertain, the company has brought a solution by introducing the CNG variant. Once again, petrol prices are gradually going down while prices of diesel are gradually coming up, due to which consumers are now looking back to the petrol vehicles.

In order to take advantage of this situation, the company has decided to introduce CNG versions of the Ertiga to boost sales of the MPV. In recent times, sales of the vehicle have become more or less static since it was launched in April 2012.

After the launch of the CNG variant, Maruti Suzuki will be introducing a special variant known as the Ertiga Feliz, which Maruti has launched recently in order to increase the interest. An official from the company said that the idea to introduce two fuel options for every model came so that customers have more options to choose from.
