A passenger aircraft of Asiana Airlines – which was carrying 307 people – crash-landed at the San Francisco International Airport on July 6, 2013 and killed at least two people. The two people who were killed were Chinese girls and 180 others were injured on board.

For the time being, the exact cause of the incident is not known, while the US government says that it is still investigating the crash cause. It was confirmed that the US president Barack Obama received a report on the incident. He also ordered his staff to stay in constant contact with the federal, state and local partners in response to the crash.

President Park Geun-hye said in Seoul that he expresses his deep condolences to the victims and their families and promised to make all efforts to support the early containment of the fallouts from the accident. A task force team has been sent to San Francisco on Sunday, July 7, 2013 afternoon for the joint inspection of the cause of the crash by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

According to the TV footage, a considerable damage has been done to the fuselage, tail section and wings. Yoon Young, CEO of Asiana Airlines assured that the company will speed up its efforts to determine the exact cause of the crash.
