South Korea-based car manufacturer Hyundai is all set to enter the sedan market in India. The company is planning to launch its entry-level sedan, which will provide a tough competition to already-existing cars on the Indian market, like Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze.

The new model by Hyundai is expected to be less than four meters in length and will comply with other technical requirements which will help the car to attract lower excise duty. So far, Hyundai faced success in the premium segment, with models like Accent and Elantra. For a long time, the company has been selling the Accent model which has been phased out now, as it has been struggling for a while after entry of newer and contemporary models.

More sources from the company have revealed that Hyundai is planning to develop a new car on the i10 Grand platform. This will be a new compact car which is expected to be unveiled by the company in September 2013. The Grand platform is new on the market and the research and development team in India has contributed a lot in the development of this model.

There are also reports that the company might even consider the i20 and the i10 compact platforms.
