Indian mobile phone manufacturer Micromax has launched its first flagship tablet in the Canvas series – the Canvas Tab P650 – for the Indian market. The new Canvas tablet comes with an 8-inch display which is packed in an aluminum body.
The latest tablet is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, which the company states can be upgraded to future versions of Google’s mobile operating system. The tablet features 1.2GHz quad-core processor which is paired with 1 GB of RAM. The device also has 16 GB of internal storage and supports microSD expansion up to 32 GB.
Other features of the device include a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Canvas Tab P650 comes with SIM support and has voice-calling. On the other hand, it is still not clear if the device supports single SIM or dual-SIM. The device has a 4800 mAh battery which provides up to 5 hours of browsing time.
The connectivity options of the Canvas tablet include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G. The Canvas P650 will be available in two colors, blue and white and it has been priced at Rs. 4,499 through online retailers.
