Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki announced 10.7 % decrease in its total sales at 92,140 in November 2013, against 1,03, 200 units in November 2012. Maruti Suzuki released a statement on Monday, December 2, 2013 and said that domestic sales in November 2013 were at 85,510 units, which is a decrease of 5.9 percent from 90,882 units in November 2012.
Sales of the company’s mini passenger cars, such as M800, Alto, A-Star and WagonR have increased by 3.7% at 38,040 units, when compared to 36,679 units in 2012. The company said that sales of the compact cars, including Swift, Estilo and Ritz were at 18,122 units, when compared to 23,849 units in November 2012, which is down by 24%.
In addition to that, sales of the SX4 mid-sized sedan decreased by 71.1 % and reached only 200 units in November 2013, as compared to 692 units in 2012. Meanwhile, premium sedan Kizashi managed to sell only one unit.
Meanwhile, sales of the company’s utility vehicles like the Grand Virara, Ertiga and Gypsy reached 5,840 units, as against 7,439 units, which is a 21.5% decrease. The statement from the company added that exports in November 2013 were down by 46.2% to 6,630 units from 12,318 units in November 2012.
