Asia Bizz: Boeing’s Dreamliner 787 Airplane Delivery Is Delayed
It was disappointing for Boeing, as it was announced that the delivery of the much awaited, Boeing 787 ‘Dreamliner’ has been delayed. The US manufacturer stated that there has been a delay in the delivery of the Dreamliner, and it could be pushed to the first quarter of 2011.
This is strictly bad news for the American airline manufacturer, as this can also hamper the reputation of the company. The company officials spoke on Friday stating that one of the main reasons of the set back is the availability of Rolls Royce engines for the Dreamliner. All Nippon Airways, Dreamliner’s maiden customer, has ordered 50 of the planes in the year 2004, and the first delivery is now pushed to the first quarter of 2011.
Boeing stated that even though there has been a delay in the delivery, this will not be affecting its financial outlook. Air India on the other hand has slapped a compensation on Boeing worth $1 billion. Boeing will need to concentrate more on its production line and development for its customers, and this is a very essential point for Boeing’s future.
