New chief minister of New Delhi Arvind Kejriwal is all set to take up his new responsibilities and will sit in front of the Delhi Secretariat in order to hear people’s complaints on January 11, 2014. Kejriwal will try to redress the complaints right away.
The road from ITO towards Rajghat has been closed and barricades have been put up so that people can sit on one side of the road and the ministers will be sitting on the other side. The meeting has been named ‘Janata Darbar’ and is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am and will continue until 11:30 am. The time can be further extended, depending on the number of complaints.
Kehriwal announced on January 10, 2014 that the entire cabinet will sit in front of the Delhi Secretariat on Saturday, January 11, 2014 and will receive grievances from people and efforts will be made in order to solve them immediately. Even on the weekdays, one minister will receive grievances from the people. The chief minister said, “Public grievance is another major issue. It is a major issue for any government.”
Kejriwal went on to say that grievances will be divided into five categories, depending on how urgent they are. The urgent cases like school admissions or admission into hospitals will be resolved on the spot.
