Indian mobile phone manufacturing giant Micromax is gearing up for the release of its new phablet, the Canvas XL A119 in India. The company’s new device has been priced at Rs. 13,990 and will be available on HomeShop 18 TV channel and website from January 19, 2014.
The online retailer will be offering special gifts and freebies worth Rs. 6,498 with the latest phone. The new Canvas XL is a dual-SIM phablet which has a dual standby mode, a 6-inch display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. The device’s chipset has not been specified yet, but Canvas XL features a 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will feature some apps created specifically for Micromax. When it comes to connectivity, the Canvas XL has 3G support, but it is not yet known if it is on both SIMs or not. The phone has 4 GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32 GB through microSD card slot.
Other connectivity options of the device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. On January 19, 2014, the online giant will start taking orders from 10 am onwards and the phone will be delivered to customers without any shipping charges.
