After social networking giant Facebook successfully acquired Indian start-up Little Eye Labs, Google is following in its footsteps. The US company decided to acquire a three-year-old start-up Imperium, which is partly based in India.
Impermium?is a security company which makes products for websites and is based both in India and the United States – with offices in Bangalore and California – and deals with the cyber security space. Mark Risher, the CEO and co-founder of Impermium in a post on the official website said that the company has been acquired by Google, however, it is still not clear if the start-up has been acquired for the their talent or technology.
So far, neither Google nor Impermium?have disclosed any figures involved in the deal. Risher?said, ?When we founded Impermium three years ago, our mission was to help rid the web of spam, fraud, and abuse. He went on to say that as sites become popular, criminals and miscreants are never far behind and the company has worked worked hard in order to protect some of the largest and fastest-growing sites.
Media reports say that apart from Risher, two Indians have played important parts in building Impermium, Naveen Jamal and Vish Ramarao. Ramarao and Risher were based in California and Jamal took care of the needs of the company in Bangalore.
