After competing in the Indian market against its rival Samsung,?mobile phone manufacturing giant Micromax has decided to make its official launch in Russia. Micromax became the 11th largest mobile brand in the world and began its operations in Russia this week by partnering up with VVP Group, which is the country?s leading distribution house.
The recent move by the company will begin by offering 14 devices from the Canvas series of smartphones, as well as Bolt series of smart-feature phones. When it comes to its service, the company will be setting up 60 centers by the end of January 2014. Rahul Sharma, the co-founder explained that the latest launch will enable the company to?democratize technology for the masses.
The recent move has also indicated the interest of the company in the highly-valued European market through the Russian entry. Sharma said, ?Our initial focus in the Russian market is to replicate the success witnessed in our other markets in the last couple of years?. The co-founder also expressed that they want to become the first Indian brand to go global.
Global intentions of the company were made clear when it decided to launch its tablet which runs on both the Android and Windows 8 operating systems at the Consumer Electronics Show which is the biggest tech show in the world, held in Las Vegas.
