Online retail giant Amazon launched its new Kindle Paperwhite for the Indian market. The tablet is now available on Amazon.in and will also be sold in more than 250 outlets all over the country, including Reliance Digital, Croma, E-Zone and Vijay Sales stores.

The new Kindle Paperwhite has been priced at Rs. 10,999 for the Wi-Fi only version, while the Wi-Fi + 3G version is priced at Rs. 13,999. The device weighs 206 grams and is lighter when compared to 222 grams of the earlier Paperwhite model. The dimensions of the new device are exactly the same – at 169 x 117 x 9.1 mm – with a 6-inch capacitive touchscreen, which has been featured on the previous model as well.

Moreover, new features of the device from Amazon include a new display technology with a higher contrast. The company says that the Kindle Paperwhite’s display is the most advanced e-reader display in history. The new device also has a built-in light which guides light towards the display’s surface in order to enable comfort reading.

The new Kindle Paperwhite has a 25% faster processor, which allows for the books to open faster. With the help of Cloud Collections, users can organize books in customized collections for easy reference and Amazon’s Whispersync technology which synchronizes their collections across the Kindle devices.
