Smartphone manufacturing giant HTC revealed the upgraded version of its popular smartphone, the HTC One on March 25, 2014. With the latest launch, the company is hoping to get a portion of the market share which it lost to its main rival Samsung. The new handset has been named the HTC One M8 and it has a 5-inch display which is a bit bigger than its predecessor.
The new handset features improved camera technology, faster processor, as well as an updated software. The device was unveiled at an event in London by chairwoman Cher Wang, who said that the HTC One M8 has a premium metal body and is an evolution of 2013’s HTC One. The chairperson went on to say that the HTC One has been appreciated by critics and is still collecting various awards, including the ‘Smartphone Of The Year’.
Wang said, “The best smartphone in the world gets better in every way”. The HTC One is still the company’s biggest-selling phone, but it still struggled in front of other tech giants in the market like Samsung and Apple, who are the leaders when it comes to sales.
HTC is doing its best to fight back by introducing a new line of cheaper handsets, which include mid-tier handsets which were included in Barcelona, as well as the new HTC One M8.
