The iconic vehicle Beetle by Volkswagen has been brought back to the Philippines. The recent move has been made in order to add the popular car to the growing line-up of the company’s vehicles which are available in the country.

Beetle was launched during an event which was held on April 2, 2014. The chairman and president of Ayala Auto Holdings, John Philip S. Orbeta said that the third generation of the popular vehicle will be manufactured in two variants and prices will be ranging from 1.59 million pesos for the Beetle 1.2 TSI, to 1.84 million pesos for the Beetle 1.4 TSI.

In order to service the initial demand, a shipment is scheduled to arrive in the upcoming two months. As of April 2, 2014, there have been at least 20 pre-orders of the iconic car. Orbeta added, “Our target market would be those who want to look at a fun, alternative car… we hope we can attract the younger generation now because many of our parents and ourselves were part of the old Beetle (generation).”

However, the official did not comment on the number of units which are expected to arrive in the next two months. Orbeta did not even reveal targets which have been set by the company as a whole and said that the supply is not stable yet.
