An increased number of people will now get a chance to get their hands on the wearable device Google Glass. The gadget – which is connected to Internet – is slowly, but surely becoming the most attractive device in fashion for geeks. The search engine giant said that the ‘Explorer’ version of Google Glass will be sold to any resident of the United States who places an online order.
It has been reported that US residents can start placing their orders as of April 15, 2014 from 9 am. The Google Glass will be priced at $1,500 and this is the same price at which the company started selling the device back in 2013. On April 15, 2014, the Glass will be sold at http://google.com/glass/start/how-to-get-one. The search engine did not reveal the number of Glass sets which will be available during the upcoming limited-time offer.
This is also the first time that the company has made Glass available to buyers without offering them special access. Moreover, more than 10,000 sets of the device have already been sold to a particular group of developers, contest winners, as well as other invitees. The current version of Glass is not a polished one, but the search engine is working on making it available in stores later in 2014.
Google Glass looks like a pair of spectacles, but the Explorer edition does not contain any actual glass and features a thumbnail-sized screen which is attached above the right eye.
